Halfacre calls law “most important public policy issue” we face
It’s a big question: Should South Carolina participate in Medicaid Expansion under the Affordable Care Act? The Greater Lexington and Greater Columbia Chambers are presenting a business roundtable to examine the issue Thursday, March 28.
Three leading health care executives will speak: Tony Keck, director of Health and Human Services for South Carolina; Thornton Kirby, president & CEO of the SC Hospital Association; and Charles Beaman, CEO of Palmetto Health. Questions will be taken at the end of each presentation.
“The Affordable Care Act is one of the most, if not the most, important public policy issues our state and nation has faced in years,” said Randy Halfacre, president/CEO of the Greater Lexington Chamber. “Accepting or rejecting ACA is not only a health care matter, but an economic and jobs issue. As local Chambers representing businesses of all sizes in the Midlands, we feel it is vital to our members to become better informed on all facets of the law and how accepting or rejecting it will affect our employees, our region, and our state. I strongly urge you to attend.”
