Children, pets celebrated at 2nd May Day at Flight Deck
May Day, “A Kid-Friendly, Critter-Lovin’ Benefit” for Special Olympics and The Animal Protection League, is May 21 at the Shoppes at Flight Deck. Now in its second year, the free event features entertainment by Nashville singer-songwriter Trent Jeffcoat, the Willis Family Band, the Area 7 Special Olympics Cheerleading Squad, and McGruff the Crime Dog. New York Jet Lance Laury also will be on hand to meet the public and sign autographs. Activities include a Best Dressed Pooch Pageant, pet adoptions, pet microchipping clinics, inflatable fun houses, fingerprinting services, car seat checks and kids crafts.
