The differences between dementia and Alzheimer’s disease and how to care for loved ones suffering with those illnesses will be discussed at a free seminar June 9 at Deepwood Estates. Presented by The Alzheimer’s Association and Heartstrings Hospice, the seminar will include:
• information about “sundowning”
• resources to help caregivers with issues they’ll encounter
• information about necessary legal documents to manage a loved one’s affairs
• information about the process of end-of-life orders
Melissa Sprouse Browne, author of The Caregiver’s Training Program and owner of Seniors First Home Care, will talk about her personal experience caring for aging parents and loved ones with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease. Copies of her book will be for sale.
