The Friends of the Lexington County Museum will host its annual fundraiser on February 2, 2013 from 7 pm to 11 pm at Lexington?s Town Hall, located at 111 Maiden Lane in downtown Lexington. Lexington?s High School was opened in 1912 and was located where Lexington Elementary is today on North Lake Drive. The first graduating class featured thirteen students, eleven females and two males. The school added eleventh grade in 1922 and twelfth grade in 1948. The original building was torn down in 1988. Tickets to this fun event are $40 and can be purchased from the museum or at the door on the 2nd. Tickets include all you can eat and drink. The Great Society Band will provide music. Sponsorships ranging from $150 to $2500 are available and are tax-deductible. All funds raised go toward the restoration of outbuildings at the museum and the enhancement of exhibits.
