Date: June 11, 2015
Time: 1:30 PM - 2:30 PM EDT
Event Description:
Many musical styles flourished and combined in the 1940's and 1950's, most likely because of the influence radio had in creating a mass market for music. World War II caused great social upheaval, and the music of this period shows the effects of that upheaval. Join Dr. Nathan Spears & Austen Spears as they present fiddle tunes of the 40's and 50's. Dr. Spears will give an introduction to the time period, and tell us about each song Austen performs. This is an engaging and educational program for all ages. All lectures are free and open to the public. Class size is limited register today!
