Literacy service providers, educators, businesses, legislators and passionate volunteers are determined to break the intergenerational cycle of low literacy in our state. Literacy 2030 unites these stakeholders under an admittedly challenging yet important goal—reaching 100 percent literacy in the Midlands of South Carolina by the year 2030—and works to connect, equip and support them for the journey.
Please join us each month as we work towards completing the Literacy Plan for our region and prepare for the journey to 100% Literacy by 2030. These monthly meetings will assist in the creation of three reports: Asset Mapping and Benchmarking Report, Funding Analysis Report and Economic Impact Report. The Foundation has brought in the national organization Literacy Powerline to assist in this process.
