Time: 10:00 AM - 10:00 AM EDT
Event Description:
Saluda River Club and Lifestone Communities is pleased to announce the return of Art on the River with featured artist Bob Graham, also known as the Saltwater Cowboy.  Graham is a native of West Columbia graduating from Brookland Cayce High School in 1986. He went on to earn his Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from Newberry College and received his MFA in Illustration from The Savannah College of Art and Design where he earned his nickname by walking barefoot on the beaches of Savannah wearing his Stetson hat. He has mastered his art over a twenty-five year career maintaining an exhibition space in the Waterfront Gallery in Charleston, S.C. for fifteen years.  Following the gallery’s recent closing, Graham joined with several artists to open Studio 151 on East Bay Street in Charleston, S.C.

His recent exhibitions include the 20th Anniversary Juried Art Exhibition at the South Carolina State Museum and the Carolina / Caribbean Connection with the South Carolina Heritage Corridor. Solo exhibit in The Borderlands Gallery in the Booth Western Art Museum. Graham exhibits his work regularly across the United States and abroad and is represented in numerous museums, corporate and private collections. His work also graces the covers of numerous books and he has several magazine illustrations to his credit.
“My goal is to tell a story and evoke an emotion in the viewer. I feel art is a journey whose elusive goal is to communicate beauty that the creator has placed before us.  The common thread in my work is people.”
Paintings depicting the War Between the States, Native America, Western and Cowboy themes, prints and portraits will be available for purchase during the Art on the River event.  You will experience the artist’s passion for western art, as well as, the love of his South Carolina roots.

Graham continues to say "I want my work to sing. I want it to capture that unique sense of feeling of that one moment in time. My work reflects a lifelong pursuit of art. Although my paintings exhibit a realistic approach, my primary goal is to give a spirit of life to the subject. I don’t want to take my dreams to the grave."
