The event will commemorate the actions that took place in and around Lexington, South Carolina, in February of 1865 during General William T. Sherman's Carolina's Campaign from Savannah, Georgia, through South Carolina and into North Carolina, from February to April of 1865; and those Federal and Confederate Troops that participated in the actions and engagements within the State. There will be displays on the Lexington District Volunteers who served from 1861 to 1865; on prominent Lexington Confederate Veterans; on the February 1865 actions that took place in the Lexington District as the Federal Forces under General William T. Sherman's Army passed through the area; and other displays on the history of Lexington and the Lexington District from December of 1860 to June of 1865. Saturday and Sunday will feature skirmishes between the Federal and Confederate forces, approximating the fighting that took place in the Lexington area in February of 1865. Throughout the day there will also be demonstrations, speakers on the history of the Carolina's Campaign, children's activities, and many, many more events taking place.
