Juliette Sterkens, AuD is a Wisconsin audiologist with 30+ years of experience in the field of audiology and hearing instrument fittings. Dr. Sterkens has recently retired from her audiology practice and is on an encore career to speak to consumers, hearing and aging care professionals on the use of hearing loops on behalf of the Hearing Loss Association of America. She has received the Wisconsin Audiologist of the Year, the American Academy of Audiology Presidential Award and the Humanitarian of the Year Award from Arizona School of Health Sciences for her work on a local, state and national level.

Date/Time Information:
EITHER  Monday, February 23, 2015 OR Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Choose the ONE day that best suits your schedule.
Each day is the SAME program and is limited to 35 participants per day.
REGISTRATION CLOSES ON February 17th. The program each day begins at 9:00 am and concludes after lunch at 1:30 pm. 

This educational program will address the incidence and impact of hearing loss in older adults and how hearing loss contributes to cognitive and physical functional decline, social isolation and overall wellbeing. It will also cover the benefits, as well as limitations, of hearing aids and how public accommodations can offer people with hearing loss seamless and barrier free access through hearing loop technology that meets ADA regulations (Americans with Disabilities Act). If arrangements can be made, the program for each day will be temporarily looped for hearing aid users in attendance and demonstration listing devices. 


Enrollment is strictly limited to 35 participants for each day, so please register early. We must receive registrations no later than Tuesday, February 17, 2015  so we have adequate time to make lunch arrangements. 
Fees/Admission:
$12.00 dollars to cover the cost of lunch and refreshment breaks

There are two easy ways to register:

1.   Make checks payable to "Lexington Sertoma Club" and mail to Lexington Sertoma Club, P.O. Box 491, Lexington, SC 29071-0491. Make sure that you include a note with your check indicating which day you will attend (February 23, 2015 or February 24, 2015) along with a day time phone number. We need to receive your check on or before February 17th. 

2.   Call Peter Balsamo at (803)728-7056 or send an email to: pb9665@gmail.com 
 . In the email indicate the day (February 23  or February 24) you wish to attend and your day time phone number. Please bring your $12.00 (check or cash) when you arrive on either February 23 or 24. Checks are payable to Lexington Sertoma Club. You need to call or email to register on or before February 17th.
