Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra will begin accepting applications for the 2013-14 annual Young Artist Competition on November 15, 2013.
The Young Artist Competition is open to high school (grades 9 - 12) music students (whether enrolled in public, private or home schools) who reside in Richland or Lexington county. This is a solo competition for string, brass, woodwind and percussion student musicians. (Solo pianists, solo vocalists and musical ensembles are excluded because of time and equipment constraints.)
The competition concludes with winners receiving cash prizes. The competition Grand Prize (should the judges determine a student meets the demanding criteria for this prestigious award) is an invitation to perform the solo with the Lake Murray Symphony Orchestra.
